The regulation of proteases by endogeneous inhibitors is a critical requirement in many physiological and
pathological processes. Most of these inhibitors are found in blood plasma and account for more than 10% of the
protein content, with a vast majority targeted towards the serine proteases. Well studied proteolic systems in which
protease inhibitors exert their regulatory functions are coagulation and fibrinolysis. A profound member of the so-
called serpin family specific serine protease inhibitors is protein C inhitor (PCI). The primary function of PCI and
other serpins is regulation of proteolic events that are associated with many biological process. 納升級(jí)/毛細(xì)管液相色譜
