  作者：JONATHANBRANT,HELENELECOANET,MATTHOTZE,ANDMARKWIESNER　?。―epartmentofCivil&EnvironmentalEngineering,RiceUniversity,MailStop317,Houston,Texas77251-1892）　　摘要：InthisstudywereportontheelectrokineticbehaviorofcolloidalaggregatesofC60fullerenes（n-C60）producedthroughtwodifferenttechniques:solventexchangeandextendedmixingwithwater.Inthefirsttechnique,usedtoproducecolloidalmaterialsinseveralrecenttoxicityandtransportstudies,anorganicsolventsuchastetrahydrofuran（THF）isusedtodissolvetheC60beforemixingwithwater.Thesecondtechniqueismoreindicativeofconditionsthatmightoccurinnaturalaquaticsystems.Bothtypesofn-C60wereobservedtobenegativelychargedunderavarietyofsolutionchemistries;however,then-C60formedusingTHFwasmorestronglycharged.Weconcludethatn-C60likelyacquireschargethroughchargetransferfromtheorganicsolvent（whenpresent）andsurfacehydrolysisreactions.Nevertheless,C60iscapableofacquiringchargeandbecomingdispersedasn-C60inwaterwithouttheaidoforganicsolvents,apathwaythatmaybeimportantindeterminingthemobilityoffullerenesinnaturalsystems.Thesefindingsalsoshowthatn-C60madeusingTHFretainsaportionofthesolventintheclusterstructure,subsequentlyinfluencingthecharacteristicsofthen-C60andpossiblyrequiringare-interpretationofresultsfromrecentstudiesonn-C60toxicityusingTHF-derivedmaterials.[詳細]
