- 這句話出自英國(guó)前首相邱吉爾， 他在一篇關(guān)于baseball的演講中說到：Broadly speaking， human beings may be divided into three classes: those who are toiled to death， those who are worried to death， and those who are bored to death. 世上主要有三種人，一種是勞累到死，一種是擔(dān)心到死，一種是無聊到死。 如果你去查字典的話，簡(jiǎn)單一些的字典是會(huì)只給出toil不及物動(dòng)詞的用法，但是它其實(shí)確實(shí)是可以做及物動(dòng)詞的，不過高級(jí)一些的字典會(huì)在前面注明“archaic"，即比較老式的用法。 順便說一下，就是在一些格言名句中可能為了對(duì)仗工整有時(shí)不排除會(huì)出現(xiàn)有違語法的情形，這點(diǎn)中文其實(shí)就蠻多的，再加上年代久遠(yuǎn)的問題，這些句子，牢記的價(jià)值遠(yuǎn)比深究其語法來得更高。
